What's good folks? It's been busy over here at Vinyl Meltdown, with lots of exciting new projects in the works. The first of which is "Sounds Like," an upcoming collaborative EP with Dutch producer Ivan Ice on the beats, and Canadian producer/MC on the rhymes. "Sounds Like" is scheduled for a February 23rd release, so in the meantime, be sure to check out our single, 'ze Drums.' This track is unique to the EP in that it's only track on the project to feature an outside MC, with California based C4. It's also the only track that sees Emay step out of the booth for a minute and behind the boards as co-producer. But despite being unique in some ways, it's a good representation of the unusual brand of hip hop that Ivan Ice and Emay have cooked up together for the EP.

EC|DC is one of the most interesting and talented up and coming producers. EC|DC, whose real name is Trevon, is based in Brooklyn, New York, is currently working on an EP and has several times already appeared on AJB with exclusive joints.
This time when I caught up once more with EC|DC, to see what he has coming, he sent me some fresh tracks and I knew right then that there was going to be a nice future for this talented producer. I got to hear "Dance With Me" in its early stages, and I could already tell the tracks were going to be insane. So, here we have the final versions of the tracks for your listening pleasure! The AJB EC|DC pack consists of only unreleased and exclusive joints for you! "Higher" is from his upcoming EP, so AJB also gives you a little taste of that! "Nike Affair", proves the different styles of beats EC|DC can deliver, he'll blow you away.

Today is the fourth anniversary of Dilla’s untimely passing. People are celebrating his life all month long. At Mochilla, we have spent the past year working on A Suite for Ma Dukes. Until now we have held our cards close to our chest releasing videos and entirely instrumental pieces. But today in homage to the man responsible for all this we are releasing, just to you, the first vocal performance from SFMD.

Note:Still to put a foot wrong, the Floating Points helmed Eglo Records offers up the angelic soul vocals of Shuanise on three buttered beat productions. Displaying an impressive range of vocal styles and beats, the Stevo produced 'Kingdom' takes the A-side slot with a sub-weighted hiphop number made for Shuanise's rapped vox, sounding not dissimilar to Speech Debelle. Meanwhile on the flip the sublime 'Catch' from Hubert Davis caters a blend of post-Dilla drums and smoky mellow Sun-Ra vibes to Shuanise's mellifluous flow, and Knowledge's lolloping nu-Soul beat on 'Commotion' frames Shuanise as a UK styled Erykah Badu, albeit with a more youthful sweetness to her tone. Gorgeous music.
