First of AJB would like to say happy bday Kissey! And second hope your album progess is doin just fine, lookin really forward to it! Peep out this little song she is giving out just to celebrate it's her birthday.

Message from Kissey:

Today, as last year, it's my birthday. woho!

... I asked you online (my blog and twitter) if we should do the free giveaway-birthday gift today too. Since almost all of you answered yes (there was one person who decided to say no ...but this was due to go against the peer-pressure) .

As many of you know I'm currently working on my new baby, it's going slowly, but surly... hm... somewhere. Since my head is so occupied in it all, it's been hard to just bake some new songs for this on top of that... so I decided to open the door and share with you a studio-demo of a song I'm currently writing on a song called 'Rise Up/Oxygen Skyer'. I'm having this crazy obsession with 'hero'-songs..and..well....ok enough crap talk...

Amelia from one of my favorite blogs, Put Me On It, Sent me this album called "THRUM" by the songwriter/Singer Tanya Auclair from London town, which is presented exclusevly by Put Me On It and just dropped 20th July. It has a quite unique experimentall sound and I wanted to share it with you!

Info:Thrum is the 1st solo outing of the lo-fi adventures of London singer-songwriter Tanya Auclair. Her warm intimate sound is a beguiling mix of playful DIY drums, layers of voice, intricate uke and guitar melodies and touches of electronica. Citing influences as wide-ranging as Fats Waller, Fever Ray, Matthew Herbert, Juana Molina and E.S.G, her open instinctive approach shows in the territory she covers from the 60s doowop of 'Plane Trails', the delicate folk of 'Tight Little Fingers', to the feverish 'Bongo Joe' drums of 'Closer' and oscillating synths of ballad 'Thrum'. All shot through with crafty hooks and her distinctive unadorned voice.

Let us introduce Kae Sun - With his soulful vocals and expressively poetic lyrics, Toronto-based Kae Sun has a lot to bring to the table, including the diverse and unique background that so strongly shaped his musical style. Influenced by a vast array of performers, as well as elements of his birthplace Ghana, the up-and-coming musician has established a distinct style that is constantly developing and always sincere.

Born and raised in an artistic and culturally-rich household in Ghana, Kae Sun was exposed to music, story-telling, and performance—ranging from church choir and traditional Ghanaian folk chants to his father’s soul records—at an early age. By the time he moved to Ontario in 2001 to focus on his musical career, Kae Sun was ready to expand his horizons, taking cues from classic musicians like Bob Dylan and Neil Young and branching out from his predominantly hip-hop inspired material to include instruments and melodic vocals in his music.

This video with the track "On the lookout" is from Kae Sun's debut album " Lion On A Leash"
