It's the 10th anniversary of Lootpack's classic hip-hop album Soundpieces: Da Antidote, the record that launched Madlib, Wildchild and DJ Romes along with their crew Quasimoto, MED, Dudley Perkins, and Oh No. Our 50th podcast is a mixtape tape put together by Madlib as the album was about to drop in early 1999 - back when a mixtape really meant “tape.”

Soundpieces was Lootpack's only album. The following year Madlib released his debut solo record, Quasimoto's The Unseen (Stones Throw - 2000), and Wildchild went solo with Secondary Protocol in 2001, proclaiming “Lootpack ain't broke up, ya'll.” We're still waiting for the next one. Madlib's father Otis Jackson Sr., would later release an album of their 1994 to '1997-era demos, The Lost Tapes.
